Paradise, FL Crew Wraps Shoot in Southwest Florida

Filming just wrapped for the feature-length Paradise, FL, a movie about a Cortez fisherman dealing with an addiction to pills and a troubled family life, just wrapped production this week. Now filmmakers are looking toward a hefty editing process and bringing the story to viewers.

“We’ve high hopes, as any independent film does,” said writer-producer Tony Stopperan. “Our aim is to hit the film festivals circuit and make a splash. With rich performances, excellent directing, production value realized through superior design and utilization of ‘functioning’ locations, and a strong story we should make waves, waves that belie the relative youthful team at the helm of this picture and the limited budget.”

Electronic music has sometimes had trouble finding its audience in Sarasota, but filmmakers from TriForce Pictures hope to change that with new video of the Neon Circus, a small festival held in September in Sarasota. “It was a two-day rave that started on Main Street in Downtown Sarasota, and then moved for a full day to Gulf Gate,” said TriForce founder Shaun Greenspan.

Of the events various organizations held concurrent with this year’s Sarasota Film Festival, the hottest was likely the Triforce Pictures Film Festival Soiree. Now the Sarasota production company is sharing the video exclusively with SRQ Backlot! The clip includes footage from Triforce and other outlets at the party, and specifically credits SRQ Backlot Art Director Evan Sigmund. Relive the glamorous party, or experience for the first time.

Forget Moss and Momoa. As far as the local film world goes, the big stars of the Sarasota Film Festival were those gold-chained kids at TriForce Pictures. Shaun Greenspan and Edward Fagan came this year armed with the short film Belief, a hilarious short about arguing about the existence of God while in line to see Santa Claus, and fueled by the excitement from moving their production company from California to Sarasota. The duo sat down with us and SRQ to talk about the film and the future.

Triforce Pictures Production Company Moves To Sarasota

The veteran LA production company Triforce Pictures has picked up stakes and moved their home office right here in Sarasota. Helmed by filmmaking duo Shaun Greenspan (pictured) and Edward James Fagan, both classically trained and experienced writers, directors and producers, Triforce is already intimately involved with the Sarasota Film Festival and has grand plans for the future of filmmaking in Sarasota.
